In our session, “Not a ‘Soft Skill’: Earning Professional Communication Certification through SRVCE,” at the Law and Public Safety Education Network Conference, we will highlight the new industry-aligned certification opportunities that high school students can pursue through SRVCE. The curriculum modules align to career cluster and pathway standards. With SRVCE, students have opportunities to practice, apply, and demonstrate a range of critical communication skills with real-world relevance, such as listening for understanding, giving and receiving feedback, clarifying and crediting, and planning and presenting ideas. Educators can test and pilot the cross-sector certifications in their own classroom.
